ServiceTasker is an online marketplace that connects customers in Australia with local tradespeople and service businesses — plumbers, electricians, painters, pest control, removalists, landscapers and many more. It is owned by Service Tasker Pty Ltd, based in South Australia, and the platform was developed, created and is maintained by SAER Technologies. ServiceTasker reports more than 1,300 service categories and over 30,000 registered businesses on its site.
How it works for customers
A customer answers a short questionnaire about the job, can add a photo, and posts the task for free from anywhere in Australia. Local businesses that cover that service and area are notified and send quotes. The customer compares quotes, reviews, ratings and business details, including the ABN, and chooses who to hire.
How it works for businesses
Businesses register for free and get a profile showing their ABN, reviews, ratings and photos. There is no monthly subscription: a business browses open jobs in its service areas and pays only for the leads it chooses. New lead alerts arrive by SMS, email and the mobile app.
What SAER built
SAER Technologies designed and developed the ServiceTasker platform: the customer task-posting flow and questionnaires, business registration and profiles with ABN checks, the lead marketplace with pay-per-lead credits and online payments, reviews and ratings, customer and business mobile apps, notifications, and the admin panel used to run the marketplace. SAER also built tools for working with ServiceTasker's business members — importing member lists, automated messaging and a CRM to follow up with them. We continue to host, update and support the platform as it grows.
